Pine Garments

We operate out of S. F. No. 121/2 on Senguntha Puram 5th Street. This part of town is known for its textile work, so we fit right in on Mangalam Road. Our building is pretty easy to spot once you get onto the street. It’s a basic setup where we focus on getting the garments ready. We don't spend money on expensive furniture or decorations because that’s not what we are about. The rooms are filled with sewing machines and cutting tables. Most of the day is spent listening to the hum of the motors and the sound of scissors on cloth. It’s a rhythm we’ve all grown used to. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we have a very local feel. We aren't a big corporation; we are just a group of people making clothes. The 5th Street is usually quiet in the mornings but gets busy when the trucks come to pick up the finished goods. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how things go here. We have a small area where we keep the finished stock before it goes out. It’s organized but in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. Mangalam Road is a good place for a business like ours. We’ve been here for years and we know most of the other shop owners on the block. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but we just keep making our garments.
