Softie Silk Thread Jewels

Our little setup is on West Street in Kanakkam Palayam, out in the Perumanallur area. Softie Silk Thread Jewels started because we just liked making things with our hands. It’s not a big factory or anything like that. We mostly work from this spot at 2/194, where it’s quiet enough to focus on the threads. The village vibe is still very much here, which is nice when you’re doing detailed work. Sometimes the neighbors stop by to see what we are making. We use a lot of bright colors and silk thread, and it can get a bit messy on the work table. You’ll see bits of thread and beads everywhere if you walk in. We don't have a marketing team or a fancy website manager. We just take photos of what we finish and show them to people. It takes a lot of patience to wrap the thread just right so it doesn't come loose. Our hands get tired after a long day, but seeing a finished piece makes it worth it. Perumanallur is a good place to be, away from the heavy city noise. We just keep doing our work, one piece at a time. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We hope the things we make bring a bit of color to someone's day.
