Zooey (premium Brand Of Sanju Exports)

Our place is at No. 384 Gandhi Road, right in Periyar Colony and very close to the bus stop. It’s a convenient spot for the staff who take the bus every morning. We are the part of Sanju Exports that does the Zooey brand. It sounds more complicated than it actually is. In reality, it’s just a group of us working in the Anuppar Palayam area, trying to make decent clothes that people want to wear. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of the space is taken up by boxes and rolls of fabric. We spend a lot of time looking at samples and making sure the colors aren't off. It’s easy to get things wrong, so we double-check a lot. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, which is just how things are here. We aren't interested in being the biggest name out there, just in doing enough work to keep everyone employed and the business moving. The neighborhood knows us, and we know them. Sometimes people drop by because they saw the sign near the bus stop. We show them what we’re working on and go back to our tasks. It’s a regular job for us, nothing more or less. We keep the machines oiled and the patterns ready. Most of our days are just spent sorting out the shipping labels.
