Vins Garments

If you come down to No. 10 Pkr Layout on 6th Street, you’ll find us at Vins Garments. It’s not a fancy shopfront, just a place where we get the stitching and sewing done. Perichipalayam is a bit tucked away, but we like it that way. We’ve got a handful of machines and some really skilled people who have been with us since the start. Some days the rhythm of the needles is the only thing you can hear. Other days, we’re all talking and trying to figure out a tricky pattern. It’s not always perfect. Sometimes a thread snaps or a machine acts up, and we have to stop and fix it ourselves. We don't have a marketing department or a big boss in a suit. It’s just us and the fabric. We focus on making things that hold together. A lot of our day is spent checking the seams and making sure the sizes are right. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going and keep working. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make decent clothes that people can actually use. Most of our neighbors know us, and we try to be quiet when we’re loading the trucks late at night. It’s a small operation, but it’s ours. We take pride in just getting the job finished on time and making sure the final product looks right before it leaves the building.
