Sakthi Kniting Company

Sakthi Kniting Company at No 50 Pathmavathipuram. We’ve been in this building for quite some time now. It’s just a regular knitting place. Usually, the machines are going from early morning until late at night. Sometimes we run out of space for all the yarn and have to stack it near the door. People in the neighborhood know us by the sound. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the name on the wall. It gets a bit dusty with all the cotton flying around, but that’s just how it is in this line of work. We try to get the orders done when we say we will. It's not always easy when the power goes out or a machine acts up. We have a few guys working the needles. It’s a lot of manual work still, even with the machines. Pathmavathipuram is a busy spot. There's always someone coming in or out of the lane. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The floor is usually covered in scrap pieces and bits of thread. We clean it up at the end of the week. Nothing fancy here. We've seen the street change a lot over the years. Some new shops opened up next door recently. We just stay here doing our thing. It's what we know best. Most of the time it's just about making sure the patterns look okay. If a machine breaks, we fix it ourselves. No use waiting for a mechanic. It's a simple life.
