E Bags

Our place, E Bags, is located right at No. 554 Narikuli Thottam in Anna Nagar. If you know where the Reliance Petrol Bunk is in Palladam, we are just around the backside of it. It’s not a hard place to find if you’re looking for the landmark. We spend our days making all kinds of bags. There’s a lot of cutting fabric and tough stitching involved. We use heavy-duty machines because the material for bags can be quite thick. The floor is usually covered in offcuts of nylon and canvas. We don't have any corporate managers or fancy titles here. It’s just us doing the work. Sometimes it gets hot in the afternoon but we just keep the fans going. We've been in this part of Palladam for a bit and we like it here. It’s quiet enough behind the petrol bunk. When people come by, they usually just walk straight into the workshop. We don't mind. We show them what we are sewing and they tell us what they need. It’s a very direct way of doing things. We don’t bother with long meetings or computer reports. We just look at the pile of orders and start the machines. Every bag has to be sturdy, otherwise, there’s no point in making it. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the zippers work and the handles are on tight before anything leaves the door.
