Our place is out at No. 153 Palladam Road, near the Veeraponid Post in Pudukkottai. Even though the name sounds a bit grand, we are a very down-to-earth operation. We work out of a plain building that’s mostly filled with sewing stations and stacks of finished garments. It’s quite a distance from the main city, so it’s a bit quieter out here, which we like. We’ve been doing this for a while now, and we’ve seen people come and go, but our core team has stayed the same. We don’t have a polished office or air conditioning in the production area. We just have big windows and some old fans to keep the air moving while we work. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets really hot, but we keep at it. Most of what we make goes to bigger distributors. We don't spend any money on fancy ads or a website. We figure if the clothes are stitched well, people will keep coming back to us. Every morning we start early, usually before the sun gets too high, and we work until the light starts to fade. It’s a simple routine. We talk about our families, have our tea breaks, and make sure the orders are moving along. We’re just a local business trying to stay steady in a tough industry. It's not glamorous, but it’s our living and we take it as it comes.
