Saara Knits

Saara Knits is located out on Dharapuram Road, specifically in the Therkku Thottam area near Palavanji Palayam. It’s a bit of a walk from the K. N. P. Colony Post, but we like it out here. The air is a little clearer than in the middle of the city. We have a good amount of space for our knitting machines. Most of our days are spent watching the spools of thread spin around. It’s a rhythmic kind of work. We aren't a big company with a lot of layers. It’s just a few of us making sure the tension on the machines is right. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just focus on the orders we get. The floors are often covered in lint and little bits of yarn. We try to keep it clean but it’s a losing battle. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to sit outside and wait for it to come back on. We use that time to talk about the local news or what’s for dinner. It’s a steady way to live. We’ve been at this location for years and the locals know us. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just make knits and try to stay out of trouble. Dharapuram Road is always busy with people traveling through. We just stay in our corner and do the work.
