Eswar Garments

Eswar Garments is right across from the India Knit Fair grounds in Kulathupalayam. Being on Devampalayam Road, specifically at No. 3/2-2, puts us in a spot where there is always something going on. When the fair is happening, the whole area gets incredibly busy, but we just keep our heads down and work on our own orders. The workshop isn't massive. We have our cutting tables in one section and the stitching rows in another. It’s a lot of manual work. We spend a lot of time checking the fabric for any defects before we even start. The workers here have been doing this for years, so they know the rhythm of the machines by heart. It’s not a shiny corporate factory. There are stacks of cardboard boxes everywhere and the floor is usually covered in scraps of cloth. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the work we do to keep the business going. Sometimes the power goes out and we all have to wait around for the generator to kick in, which is just part of living in Palangarai. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to get through the day’s production and make sure the people who buy our garments aren't disappointed with the stitching. It's just us and our sewing machines.
