P U Elementary School

P U Elementary School is in a very unique spot compared to most other schools. We are located right in the Aalliyar Reserve Forest, out on the Parambikulam Road near Topslip. Because we are so far out from Pollachi, the atmosphere here is much quieter and more natural. You don't hear the sound of city traffic, but you do hear the wind in the trees and the various birds from the forest. The school building is a small, simple structure that fits in with the surroundings. Most of the children who come here are from the local families living in or around the reserve area. We don't have many rooms, and the facilities are very basic. There are just a few of us on the staff, and we handle everything from the teaching to the administrative work ourselves. Sometimes, getting supplies out here can be a bit of a challenge because of the distance from the main town of Pollachi. The classrooms have old-fashioned benches and large windows that look out onto the greenery. It’s a peaceful place to work, even if it is a bit isolated. We spend our days following the government curriculum and making sure the kids have what they need for their lessons. There’s no pretense here; it’s just a small forest school doing its best for the local community in a very beautiful part of the world at 642133.
