Edison Clothing Inc.

It’s usually pretty loud around here at Edison Clothing Inc. since we are right in the Ankal Mills Compound. If you look out the window, you can see the college kids walking back and forth on Palladam Road all day. Our building is number 379, and it’s a bit of a maze to get through the gates sometimes. We spend most of our mornings just moving boxes around and checking the stitch work on the latest batches. It isn’t fancy at all. There are stacks of fabric in the corner that have been there since Tuesday because we haven't had a second to sort them. Sometimes the electricity acts up, so we just sit and wait for a bit, maybe grab a tea from the guy outside. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time. We know each other's families and what everyone likes for lunch. It gets dusty, especially with all the trucks passing by the college opposite us. We try to keep things organized, but when a big order comes in, the whole floor just becomes a mess of thread and scrap cloth. You learn to live with it. By five o'clock, the sun hits the front door really hard, and we start thinking about wrapping things up. It’s just a normal workplace where we try to get through the day's list without too much trouble or many mistakes.
