We are located over at S. F No. 227/2 in the Abirami Avenue Extension, which is part of the Palankarai area in Avinashi. If you know this region, you know it’s all about textiles and clothing. We fit right into that. Our building is a straightforward garment unit where we spend our days cutting fabric and sewing pieces together. It’s not a glamorous setup, just rows of sewing machines and cutting tables. The air is always a bit dusty from the fabric lint, but we don't mind much. We’ve got a crew of workers who have been with us for years. They know exactly what they’re doing without being told twice. We make various types of apparel, mostly stuff for everyday wear. We don't do big fashion shows or anything like that. We just focus on making sure the stitching is okay and the sizes are right. Most of the time, we are busy trying to hit a deadline for a local order. It can get pretty loud when all the machines are running at once, so we usually have to shout over the noise to be heard. We take our lunch breaks together in the back, and then it’s back to the machines until evening. It’s a steady rhythm here in Avinashi. We just do the work, pack the boxes, and send them out. It’s what we do.
