Kapas Garments

We’ve been here at 60/160 K. N. P. Puram for quite some time now. Dealing with clothes is what we do every day. The shop is on Linga Gounder Street in Odakadu, which is usually busy. It’s a lot of work getting everything sorted, especially when the orders pile up. Most of the time, we’re just making sure the stitching is right and the fabric feels okay. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a workspace where we get things done. Some days it’s quiet, other days we can hardly keep up. We try to keep things moving. People know where to find us if they need something. It’s just us working with what we have. The street outside can be a bit noisy with all the traffic. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just have to wait it out. That’s how it goes here. We handle the cutting and the sewing right here on the premises. It’s messy sometimes, with threads and scraps everywhere on the floor. But that’s how a garment place looks. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty for visitors. We just focus on the piles of fabric in front of us. If you walk down the street near the corner, you'll see our sign. We've been in this spot long enough that the neighbors know us. It’s just a regular business. We often have tea together before we start the heavy work in the morning.
