Nisa Garments

Nisa Garments is tucked away at 81/1 Nandavana Thattam Mission Street-4 in the southern industrial area. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't local to the neighborhood, but we like it here. It’s a workspace where we spend our hours cutting and sewing garments. The machines make a lot of noise during the day, so it’s never really quiet. We have a small team, and everyone has their own task, whether it’s stitching or packing. The street outside is narrow, so when a delivery comes, it can get a bit tight. We don't have a showroom with bright lights; it’s more of a workshop feel. Fabric scraps end up on the floor, and we sweep them up at the end of the shift. We work with different types of cloth depending on what is needed at the time. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going. Sometimes we sit outside for a break when the weather is decent. There’s no big corporate structure here, just a few of us making sure the garments are finished on time. We just focus on the work but we also have a laugh now and then to pass the time. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing in this part of town. We’ve been here for several years now and we know all the other shop owners on the street. It feels like a little community even if it’s mostly just industrial work and making deliveries.
