Nethra Garments

Down here in Necupalayam, we run Nethra Garments at 46/25 Kamraj Nagar 3rd Street. It is right off T. N. Road, which is always busy with traffic and people. The shop is in a row of other small businesses, so there is a lot of noise from the street coming in through the door. We keep it open most of the time to get a breeze. Working with garments means we deal with a lot of different people coming in and out. It’s a hot area, so we have a couple of ceiling fans that never seem to stop spinning. The floors are concrete and we have racks of clothes lined up along the walls. It’s not a boutique with soft lighting; it’s a working shop where things are made and sold. We have a few tailors who have been with us for years, and they can work through the noise without even looking up. We get our supplies from the local markets and try to keep things moving so we don't have too much stock sitting around. The 3rd street in Kamraj Nagar is a tight fit for cars, so most people just come on foot or bikes. It’s a lively place to be. We have our routine and it works for us. We don't need anything fancy to do our jobs, just good thread and enough light to see the seams.
