Metro Fashions is based out of Mannarai. Our physical location is S. F. No 288/1 in Seniyappa Nagar. It’s a bit of an industrial-feeling area, which makes sense for the type of fashion and textile work we do here. The building is more of a workshop than a fancy office. We have rows of machines and big tables for cutting and measuring fabric. It’s often quite loud during the day when everything is running at once. We don't have a polished corporate environment. There is usually thread on the floor and scraps of material in the corners. The people who work here are mostly locals from the Mannarai area. We don't really have a formal hierarchy; we all just pitch in where it is needed. We focus on getting the garments made and sent out. Some weeks are much busier than others, especially when a big order comes in and we have to put in extra hours. We don't do much in the way of promotion. People find us because they need things made, and we happen to be here doing that. We don't have a big sales team or anything like that. It’s just a straightforward production house. We’ve been at this for a while and we have a rhythm that works for us. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do.
