Varma Garments

Varma Garments is located out on Dharapuram Road, inside the Senthil Rice Mill Compound in Chettipala. It is a bit of an industrial area, so there are always trucks moving in and out of the compound with various goods. Being near a rice mill means it can get a bit today, but we have gotten used to it over the years. Our workspace is large and open, which is good for the garment work we do. We have several rows of machines and long tables for cutting the cloth. It is a noisy place when all the machines are running at once, and you have to speak up to be heard over the hum. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot, though it still gets quite warm under the metal roof by noon. We do not have a fancy office, just a small corner with a desk where we keep our registers and phone. Most of the people working here live nearby in Chettipala, so it feels like a big family. We focus on getting the orders finished on time and making sure the stitching is solid. The road outside is always busy with traffic heading toward the main town. It is a straightforward business where we work hard and go home tired. We don't use any big marketing tricks, we just do our job every day and try to keep things moving. There is always a lot of thread on the floor.
