Jayashree Garments

Jayashree Garments is situated in the Vipro Garments Compound on N.P. Nagar Main Road in Serankandu East. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it’s a good spot for a garment unit because we have the space we need. The compound is shared with some other businesses, so there is always some activity in the yard. Inside our section, we’ve got rows of machines and tables for checking the finished pieces. We do a lot of the stitching and finishing work right here. The staff are local people, and many of them have been with us since we started. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we try to keep things moving along at a steady pace. Sometimes we have issues with the machines breaking down, and we have to wait for the mechanic to come by and fix them. That can throw off our schedule, but we usually manage to catch up. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the standard tools you need for making clothes. The office part is just a small corner with a desk and a few chairs for when we need to talk to suppliers. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but we have some fans to keep the air moving. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we just focus on doing the work we are given to the best of our ability. We close up around seven most evenings.
