K. R. Knit Wear

We have been operating K. R. Knit Wear at No. 129 Murungapalayam Avinashi Road for quite some time now. Most days it’s just us working through the piles of knits that need finishing. People come in from the street, they look at what we’ve done, and we usually end up talking about the weather or how bad the traffic has gotten on Avinashi Road. It gets very busy around here, especially in the early mornings when everyone is heading to work. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big team of people. It’s just some basic machines and a lot of yarn rolls sitting around. My hands are usually a bit tired and stained by the end of a long day, but that’s just how the work goes. Sometimes a thread snaps or a needle breaks, and everything has to stop while we fix it. It is not a big factory by any means. It’s just a place where things get made day by day. We try to keep things organized but sometimes boxes pile up in the corners and we have to move them around to find anything. If you walk past the shop, you will definitely hear the hum of the machines. It’s a very steady and familiar sound to us now. Sometimes a neighbor brings some tea, and we sit on the stools for five minutes before getting back to the machines. We just keep busy and do the work that comes our way.
