S. S. D. Garments

You can find S. S. D. Garments at D. No. 44 - A on Thiruvalluvar Street in the Maruthachalapuram neighborhood. It is a typical street with a lot of houses and small businesses mixed together. We operate out of a ground-floor space that stays relatively cool because of the way the building is tucked in. We have our sewing setups and cutting tables spread out across the main room. It is a bit of a maze sometimes, especially when we have a lot of fabric rolls lying around. Maruthachalapuram is a lively area, and there is always some noise coming from the street, whether it is children playing or motorbikes zooming past. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. Mostly, we just have calendars and some notes tacked up near the machines. The light in the morning is quite good, which helps us with the detailed parts of the garment work. By the afternoon, we usually have the radio on to keep us company while we work through the tasks. It is just a small group of us here. We don't try to be something we are not. We just take the fabric, do the stitching, and get the orders ready. Sometimes the rain makes the street muddy, and we have to be careful not to track dirt inside. It is just the regular, daily grind of running a small local garment place.
