Manthralaya Garments

Manthralaya Garments is located inside the K. M. S. K. Compound in Murugampalayam. It’s at No. 208/1, and it’s a bit of a working-class area with a lot of other small businesses around us. You can hear the hum of different machines from the neighboring units all day long. Our space is mostly taken up by sewing tables and stacks of finished garments waiting to be moved. It’s not a quiet place, that’s for sure. There’s always someone moving a trolley or packing up a box. We’ve been in this compound for a few years now, and we’ve seen shops come and go, but we just keep doing our thing. The floors are concrete and a bit stained from years of work, but they hold up well. We have a small area near the back where we take our breaks and have some food. It’s nothing special to look at, just a place where we put in our hours and make sure the garments are handled properly. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit outside in the compound for a bit until it comes back on. It gives us a chance to talk to the other workers nearby. We don't have any big slogans or fancy promises. We just come in, do the work that needs doing, and head home to our families. It is just a regular way of living and working for us.
