At Moonsun Apparels, things are pretty straightforward. We are over at No. 13/7 Vsa Nagar, right near Manikaran Palayam and the Rakiyapalayam Privu junction. It’s a busy part of town and there’s always something going on outside our windows. We do a lot of sewing and cutting here. Most days start early with a cup of tea while we look at the fabric rolls that came in the night before. The space isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we put everything. Sometimes the sewing machines get a bit loud, but that's just how it is when you’re making clothes. We’ve been in this spot for a few years now. The neighborhood knows us, and we know the other shopkeepers around Vsa Nagar. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We focus on getting the stitches straight and making sure the buttons don't fall off. There are no big meetings or fancy office chairs here. We mostly stand at the cutting tables or sit at the machines. When the sun hits the building in the afternoon, it gets quite warm, so we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through from the Rakiyapalayam side. We just make clothes for everyday people. It’s a small operation and we really like it that way because we can see every single piece that goes out the door. We've been doing this for long enough that it just feels natural now.
