Hifa Garments

Hifa Garments is over at No. 2/98 Mangalam Road, right near Kumaran College. Because we are so close to the college, we see a lot of students and young people walking past our doors every day. Our shop is quite simple. We have the usual racks of clothes and a small counter where we handle the sales. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be careful about how much stock we bring in at once. Usually, it’s just one or two of us here during the day. We spend our time folding clothes that have been tried on or chatting with the neighbors. Mangalam Road is a busy route, so there is always the sound of buses and bikes going by. We don’t have any fancy marketing plans or anything like that. We just put the clothes out and hope people like what they see. Sometimes the college kids come in looking for something specific, and other times it’s just people from the local apartments. We keep the shop open until late evening when the street finally starts to quiet down. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We’ve got our regulars who come in every few months to see what’s new on the hangers, and that’s enough for us. It is just a modest shop trying to keep up with the daily rush.
