Maadha Garments

Maadha Garments is located at No. 43 Sri Venkateswara Nagar, 3rd Street in Valayankadu. This is in the heart of the garment area, so there are many units like ours nearby. We mostly do hosiery and stitched clothes. The machines start early in the morning and you can hear the clicking sound all day. It’s a small unit, but we stay very busy. We have a few tailors and some people for packing. Valayankadu is a place where everyone knows about fabric. We get the raw material, cut it, and stitch it according to what’s needed. It’s dusty work sometimes with all the lint from the cotton. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the street change as more buildings went up. We don't do anything fancy, just plain hard work. The street can get crowded with tempos picking up bundles. We usually have a lot of tea and talk about the current rates of yarn. It’s not a corporate office, it’s a workplace. We have benches for the workers and a small corner for the accounts. Everything is done manually, from checking the pieces to bundling them up in plastic. We just try to keep the quality decent and finish the orders on time so we can move on to the next one. It's a lot of pressure during the big holidays but we somehow manage to get it all out the door.
