M Veerappan & Co.

We have been at 20, Binny Compound for quite a long time now. M Veerappan & Co. is not a huge operation with hundreds of employees. It is just a few of us working out of the office on Kumaran Road. We deal with various supplies and general trading for the local businesses nearby. The building is old, and it has that specific smell of paper and old wooden furniture. People know us because we have been in the same spot for years and don't move around. We do not use much technology besides the basics. We still write many things down in ledgers because it feels more reliable than a computer sometimes. Our neighbors in the compound are mostly other small businesses, so we all know each other and say hello in the mornings. Sometimes we share a coffee in the afternoons when things quiet down. The traffic on Kumaran Road can be a real nightmare during the middle of the day, so we try to get our deliveries out as early as possible. We are not looking to expand into some giant corporation. We like the size we are right now. It is manageable and we know all our customers by name. My father started things, and I just took over the daily work. We keep it simple. If someone needs something we supply, they just stop by or send a note. It is a quiet way to do business.
