Our place is over at Plot No. 6 on the first street of the Snvs Layout, just off Kongu Main Road. It’s more of a work area than a fancy showroom. We spend most of our time dealing with heaps of garments and bundles of cloth. The layout is usually quiet, which is nice compared to the noise on the main road. We started out small and just stayed in this spot because it suits what we do. Inside, there are tables for sorting and racks for hanging things up before they get packed away. We aren't big on marketing or anything like that; people usually find us through word of mouth or because they live nearby. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the orders to worry about that. Sometimes the sewing machines need a bit of oil, and the whole place smells like industrial lubricant for a while. We work through the pile of daily tasks, making sure the stitching is decent and the counts are right. It’s a lot of repetitive movement, but it’s what we know. Most days end with us making sure the shutters are locked tight and the scraps are cleared off the floor. It’s just a normal garment business run by people who have been in the trade for years. It's not glamorous, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills.
