Sri Kumaran Knit Wears

Over at No. 45/30 M. G. Pudur 2nd Street, just off the main Palladam Road, you’ll find Sri Kumaran Knit Wears. We focus mostly on the knitting side of things here in this building. The structure isn’t exactly new, but it holds our equipment just fine and keeps the rain out. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but that keeps the dust down a little which is good for the yarn. We have stacks of knitted fabric in various stages of completion sitting around on the floor and on the tables. It gets a bit cramped when a big shipment of thread comes in, but we always find a way to navigate around the piles. Most of our day is spent watching the machines and checking for any loose threads or mistakes in the weave. It’s repetitive work, but we’ve been doing it long enough that it feels natural to us now. We don’t have a big sign or any bright lights to show off to people passing by. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they’ve worked with us for years. The 2nd street can be a bit narrow for the bigger delivery vehicles, so loading and unloading can be a bit of a chore sometimes. We just try to get the work done without making too much of a fuss. The humidity sometimes makes the yarn act up, but we’ve learned how to deal with that. It’s just a regular workplace with regular people.
