K. M. Knitwear

K. M. Knitwear sits at No. 14 E/f Lakshmi Nagar 1st Street, right in the City Garden area. It’s a decent spot, usually a bit quieter than the main roads. We deal with knitting here, so there is always a lot of yarn and soft material around the floor. The building itself is older, but it serves our purpose well. We have the machines set up in rows, and they make a steady humming sound all day long. Sometimes we have to stop and fix a snag or change the colors for a new project. It’s not like a big factory you see in movies; it’s just a local shop where we know each other's names. Most of us have been working here for a few years at least. We take our lunches together and talk about the neighborhood. The City Garden area is nice to walk around when we need a break from the noise of the knitting machines. We don’t spend much time on decorations or making the place look polished. We spend our time on the sweaters and shirts. If you come by Lakshmi Nagar 1st Street, you’ll see the bags of finished goods waiting by the door. It’s a busy little place, but we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and get the knitting done. It’s what we know how to do best without making a big fuss about it.
