Sashti Apparels

You can find us at No. 4/9 Kumarananthapuram North 1st Street. Sashti Apparels isn't a big factory or anything like that, just a local spot where we get garments made. The street is usually pretty quiet, which is nice. We have a few machines lined up against the wall and a big cutting table in the middle. Most of the day is spent handling different fabrics and making sure the seams are straight. It’s repetitive work, but there’s something okay about it. We have a small group of people working here. Some of us have been friends for years. We talk while we work, mostly about what’s going on in the neighborhood or what we’re having for dinner. We don't really have any big goals of becoming famous or anything. We just want to do a good job so people keep coming back. Sometimes the thread snaps or the machine gets stuck, and we have to spend half an hour fixing it. That's just how it goes. The building is a bit old, and the fans squeak a little, but it’s our space. We’ve been at this North 1st Street address for quite a while now. We know all the shopkeepers around here. It’s a steady life, and we’re happy to just keep doing what we know how to do without any fuss. We just keep our heads down and get the work finished.
