Sabari Screens

You can find Sabari Screens over at No. 32 Ayyappa Street, right off the 60 Feet Road in Kumarananthapuram. It’s a busy corner of the city. We work out of a modest space here. Mostly, we spend our time cutting mesh to size and fitting it into frames. It’s the kind of work that requires a bit of patience and a steady hand. The shop is usually full of rolls of screen material and aluminum sections. We’ve been here long enough that the local residents know to stop by when they need their windows sorted out. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the tools. The noise from P. N. Road is always in the background while we work. It’s not a fancy office environment. We’ve got dust on our clothes and scratches on our hands most days. When a customer comes in, we just talk about what they need and how long it’ll take. There are no complicated contracts or sales pitches here. We just measure, cut, and fix. Sometimes we have to go out to people's houses to see the windows ourselves because every frame is a little bit different. It’s practical work that keeps the air flowing and the mosquitoes out. We just take it one job at a time and try to get it done right. If it’s a small repair, we usually do it right while they wait, provided we aren't too swamped with work that morning.
