Fresco Garments

Our place is at No. 1-a Pugazham Perumal Puram on the 3rd Street, just off Pitchampalayam Road. Kumarananthapuram is a busy area for this kind of work, so we fit right in. Fresco Garments has been operating out of this building for a few years now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’ve been too busy to get around to it. It’s a ground-floor unit, which makes it easier for loading the bikes and small vans that come by to pick up the finished garments. Inside, it's mostly open space with long tables where everything gets sorted and folded. We keep the windows open to let the breeze in, but that also lets in some of the dust from the road. The staff here are mostly locals from the surrounding blocks, so everyone walks or cycles to work. There’s no big corporate hierarchy here; the owner usually sits at the same table as everyone else, helping out with the tagging or the packing when things get hectic. We have a radio that plays the local station in the background, which helps keep the mood light while we're working. It’s just a regular workplace where people show up, do their jobs, and go home to their families. We don’t try to be anything we’re not, we just stick to what we know.
