A. S. V. Garments

You can find A. S. V. Garments at No. 13/ 9 on Kamatchi Amman Kovil Street. It’s a local street in Kumaranandhapuram where everyone seems to know everyone else. We’ve been operating out of this building for a good bit now. It’s a simple garment setup. We have sewing machines and cutting tables taking up most of the room. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we like the energy. Often, you’ll hear the hum of the machines even from the street. We handle a lot of different clothing items depending on what people are asking for. The space is a bit cramped because we keep a lot of fabric rolls around. We don't really have a front desk or anything formal. Usually, someone is just standing near the door or working at a table. It gets quite dusty with all the lint, so we have to sweep pretty often. My brother and a couple of assistants help out with the sewing and packing. We try to stay organized, but sometimes the orders pile up. It’s just a normal day-to-day routine for us. We drink a lot of coffee to keep going. The street outside is usually full of bikes and people going to the temple. We’re just one of the many small shops trying to do our job right in this neighborhood. We don't have any big corporate plans, we just want to get the sewing done and the orders out on time.
