Krishna Knitwear

If you go down Angeripalayam Road and look into Teachers Colony, you will find us at Krishna Knitwear. This part of town is always humming with the sound of machines because everyone around here is involved in the textile trade. Our building is number 42, and it stays pretty busy from early morning until late at night. There is always a faint smell of new cotton and engine oil in the air, which is just part of the job. The knitwear business involves a lot of repetitive work, but we have a good group of people here who have been working together for a long time. We usually take our breaks together and talk about the local cricket scores or the weather. The floor is mostly covered with bags of yarn and scraps of fabric that we haven't cleared away yet. We don't spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders. Most of our visitors are delivery drivers or people we have known for twenty years in the industry. The machines make a lot of heat, so we keep the big doors open to let the breeze in whenever we can. It is hard work and the days are long, but there is a certain rhythm to it that we all like. We just focus on getting the daily production done and making sure the crates are ready for the morning pickup.
