Cop Garments

Cop Garments is located at No. 3/180 Market Road in Koduvai. It is a busy street, especially on market days when everyone is out. We have been working out of this space for a while. It’s mostly sewing machines and stacks of fabric around here. We start early in the morning when the light is good. The building isn't anything special, but it stays cool enough in the heat. We make different kinds of clothes. Sometimes the orders are big, other times it’s just small batches. You can hear the machines humming from the street if the door is open. We have a few people who have been with us since we started. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on the stitches. We try to keep things organized but with all the thread and offcuts, it gets messy. Market Road is always loud with bikes and trucks passing by. We are used to it by now. Koduvai is a good place for this kind of work. We get our materials delivered right to the door, though the trucks sometimes struggle with the narrow parts of the road. It’s a basic operation. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or anything. Just the work happens inside. If you walk past No. 3/180, you’ll see us there. We just keep our heads down and keep sewing until the sun goes down. It's a steady life here, and we don't plan on moving anywhere else soon.
