Knitway Fashion

Knitway Fashion is located at No. 2/154 Mariamman Kovil Street. We are in Elango Nagar, which is a nice part of town. Being on the same street as the temple gives the place a bit of a different feel compared to an industrial zone. We can hear the sounds from the street all day. Our workshop isn't very large. We have a few rooms filled with sewing machines and cutting tables. It’s a very local operation. We don't have a corporate structure or big bosses. We just have a handful of people who are good with their hands. Most of us have lived in Elango Nagar for years. We handle all sorts of fashion garments. We don't spend money on big ads or marketing. We just put a sign out front on Mariamman Kovil Street and let people come to us. The work is pretty steady. We try to keep the place tidy, but when we have a lot of fabric coming in, it can get a bit cluttered. We just move a few things around and keep going. It’s a comfortable place to work. We know the neighbors and the people who walk by every morning. We don’t really have any big statements or goals written on the walls; we just have the work that needs finishing by the end of the week. It’s a simple life and a simple business in Elango Nagar.
