Anand Ganpati Garments

We’ve been here at Door No. 57 on the ground floor in Kumarappapuram for a good while now. It’s right in Rayapuram West. The shop is usually full of clothes piled up, and sometimes it gets a bit crowded when we have a lot of stock coming in. My family started this because we knew a bit about fabrics and how to get things stitched properly. It isn't a huge place, but we make it work. Most days, you can find me or one of the boys standing near the entrance just watching the traffic go by when it's quiet. We handle all sorts of garments. The light in the morning is actually quite nice through the front door, even if the street outside is dusty. People from around the neighborhood stop in mostly to see what’s new or just to say hello. Sometimes the fan makes a clicking noise, which we should probably fix one of these days. We don’t have fancy displays or anything. It is just a regular place where we do our work and sell what we have. Most of our time is spent checking the seams and making sure the sizes are what they say on the tag. It's a lot of folding and unfolding, honestly. Rayapuram has changed a lot over the years, but our spot here has stayed pretty much the same. We just keep doing what we do every morning until it's time to close up and go home.
