Dutch Blue

Our spot is on Sevanthampalyam Road, right near the VK Thirumana Mandapam. It is a convenient place to be because there are always people around for the weddings and events at the hall. We work with different kinds of garments and fabrics. The name came about because we used to work with a lot of blue material when we first started. The shop isn't very large, so it can feel a bit crowded when we have a lot of stock piled up. We spend our days checking the quality of the cloth and making sure the orders are sorted out correctly. It is not a high-end boutique with soft music; it’s a working shop where you can hear the street noise all day. Sometimes we have a bit of trouble with the power cutting out, but we just wait it out. Most of our customers are locals or people who have heard about us through word of mouth. We don't spend money on ads or fancy signs. We just show up, handle the fabric, and try to get the work done on time. It is a bit of a scramble sometimes when things get busy, and the floor is usually covered in thread and scraps. We just keep at it because this is our trade and we like being part of the community here. The road outside is always full of bikes and people going to the hall.
