Kaab-n-knit

We are located over at S. F. No. 136 in the Parvathi Rice Mill Compound. Being in Karuvampalayam on Mangalam Road means it stays pretty busy around here most of the time. The building isn't anything special to look at, but it keeps the rain off the machines. We spend our days mostly dealing with knitting patterns and making sure the threads aren't tangling up. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, especially when all the equipment is running at once. Most of us have been working together for a few years now, so we have a rhythm. We don't really have a big front office or anything like that. People usually just drop by the compound if they need to talk to us. Usually, there's a lot of noise from the other businesses nearby in the mill area, but you stop noticing it after a while. We keep things pretty simple here. We get the yarn, we set the machines, and we watch the pieces come out. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It’s just how things go. We try to keep the floors clear of scrap fabric, though it’s a constant battle. The neighborhood has changed some, but we’re still here doing the same stuff every week. We aren't trying to do anything fancy, just keep the work moving.
