Karunnya Garments

We’ve been over here on 5th Street for a while now. If you walk down P. N. Road and turn into M. G. R Nagar, you’ll find us at number 31/37. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. We spend most of our days surrounded by rolls of cloth and the sound of sewing machines running. Some mornings it gets pretty loud, especially when we have a lot to finish. The floor usually has bits of thread and fabric clippings all over it by noon. That is just how it goes when you’re busy. We started Karunnya Garments because we knew how to stitch and figured we might as well do it for ourselves. People around here know where to find us if they need something made up. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything like that. Most folks just hear about us from their neighbors. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes my hands ache at the end of the day, but we keep at it. The weather gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full blast. We just try to get the orders out on time and make sure the seams are straight. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend an hour fixing it, which is frustrating, but that’s part of the job. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town, just a steady one that stays open and does what it says.
