We operate out of No. 14 A.S. Kandasamy Goundar Layout. It’s tucked away in the Singaravelan Nagar Extension area near Pitchapalayam Pudhur. The office is really just a room with some files and a computer that takes a while to start up in the mornings. We handle a lot of paperwork here. Boxes come and go through the main gate all week long. It’s a residential area mostly, so we try to keep the noise down when the trucks arrive for loading. The sun hits the front window pretty hard in the afternoon, making it quite hot inside during the summer. We’ve got a small ceiling fan that helps a bit, though it squeaks. Most of our work is done over the phone or through emails, so you won't see many people visiting the office. We started Karthick Impex because we knew a bit about moving goods and decided to do it on our own. It’s a lot of tracking numbers and making sure things are where they should be at the right time. The layout of the streets is a bit confusing if you’re not from around here, but once you find us, it’s easy enough. We don't have any fancy logos on the walls or expensive rugs. It’s just a place of work. We stay busy with the logistics of it all. It’s a steady pace most months and we just keep the files moving. There is always more paperwork to do when things are being shipped.
