Kannan Garments

We’ve been running Kannan Garments out of Akil House No. 10 for a good bit of time now. This part of Chinnathottam 3rd Street stays pretty busy, especially since we’re right off Kangayam Road. Most days, you’ll find us surrounded by stacks of fabric and the sound of machines going. It’s not a fancy setup, just a practical workspace where we get things done. I remember when we first moved into this building, it felt huge, but now every corner is filled with something. We deal with clothes all day long, checking buttons or making sure the stitching looks alright before things go out. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon gets a bit much, but we keep the fans going and stay on task. People in the neighborhood know us by now, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the trucks coming and going on the main road. It’s just how things are here. We don't spend much time on office work or sitting behind big desks. Mostly, we are on our feet moving stuff around or talking to the cutters. It's a lot of work, but it keeps us busy and the days go by fast. If you walk past Akil House, you’ll likely see the gate open and someone loading a bike or a small van. We’ve stayed in this spot because it works for us and our workers live nearby. It’s a local operation, nothing more, nothing less.
