Down at S. F. No. 896/2 in the Anbu Complex, we spend most of our time getting things ready. Suriyan Nagar is a busy area, especially with the ABT Road extension right there. Karuvampalayam has a lot of garment work going on, so you hear the sound of machines almost everywhere you go. Our place isn't anything special to look at from the outside. It’s just a solid work space where we handle the daily garment orders. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we are always cleaning off the tables. The sun hits the front of the complex pretty hard in the afternoons. Inside, it’s mostly just the smell of new fabric and the hum of the fans overhead. We have our regulars who know exactly where to find us in the complex. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the extension road, but we manage. We aren't a big corporate office. It’s just us working through the piles of clothes that need to be sorted and packed. The walls are a plain color and we have a few old calendars hanging up. It gets loud when everyone is talking at once, but that’s just how it is here. We focus on the work on the table and making sure things get sent out on time. It is a steady rhythm every day. The work is hard on the back, but we keep the machines running through the afternoon heat.
