K. R. V. Hosiery Mills

Our spot is at 7 Universal Road, right near the R. K. G. Bus Transport. Being so close to the station means we hear the buses pulling in and out all day long. It's a bit noisy, but you get used to it after a week. We do hosiery work here at K. R. V. Hosiery Mills. It is mostly just the standard stuff people need for their everyday lives. It is not fancy work, but it fills our days. I usually open up the shop quite early, before the first big bus rolls in from the city. The concrete floor stays pretty cool in the morning, which is nice before the heat kicks in. We have a few older machines that still run well enough if you know how to treat them right and oil them. Sometimes they act up and we have to spend an hour just cleaning the lint out of the gears. It gets very dusty in here. My brother helps me out when he can, and we just get through the orders as they come in. We don’t have a website or any of that new stuff. People just drop by or call us on the old landline phone. Sometimes the connection is fuzzy. We keep a big ledger on the wooden desk to track what goes out. It’s got coffee rings all over the cover. We aren't trying to grow into some huge company. We just like having our own place to work.
