Ssm Garments Tirupur

Our place, Ssm Garments, is located at No. 1/1261-f in Abirami Nagar, which is part of the Knp Colony. We are near the K. Chettipalayam area, just off Dharapuram Road here in Tirupur. The workshop is situated in a residential-style area, so it’s not as crazy as the main market. I set this up because I wanted to work for myself after years of being a cutter in a big factory. It’s a modest setup with a row of sewing machines and a cutting table in the middle. We have a few ladies from the colony who come in to do the stitching. It’s a friendly atmosphere, even when we are rushing to finish a batch of t-shirts. We don't have any fancy marketing materials or a salesperson. Usually, we just take orders from the bigger exporters who need extra capacity. Sometimes the thread colors don't match exactly, and we have to redo a whole batch, which is frustrating. But that's the nature of the garment trade. I handle the accounts and the logistics myself. The space gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of fabric rolls delivered. We just pile them up in the corner and work around them. Dharapuram Road is easy for the delivery vans to find. We just keep our heads down and try to do a decent job every day without much fuss.
