Smart Garments

We are over at No. 374, just off Dharapuram Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always something going on outside our door. Smart Garments is a pretty straightforward operation. We have our machines, our tables for cutting, and a small area where we keep the finished pieces. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a solid place where we can get our work done without distractions. We have a handful of workers who have been with us for a long time. They know the routine and they don't need much direction. We aren't the type of place that has a big front office or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll likely just walk right into the middle of the work. It’s loud, it’s a bit hot, and there is lint everywhere. That’s just the reality of making clothes. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. We just want to make sure the stitches are straight and the orders are ready when they need to be. Dharapuram Road can get backed up with trucks, so getting materials in and out is sometimes a bit of a headache. But we’ve lived here all our lives, so we’re used to it. We don't use any slick marketing or big promises. We just show up every morning, turn on the lights, and start working on whatever is on the table that day. It keeps us out of trouble and pays the bills.
