Our place is at No. 10 on the 1st floor along Mahaliamman Kovil Street in K. Chettipalayam. If you’re coming down Dharapuram Road, you have to look for the turnoff near the temple. The stairs up to the first floor are a little steep, so we’re always careful when we’re carrying bundles of clothes up and down. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we have a few fans going to keep the air moving while we work. At Ranjani Apparels, there’s always a lot of noise from the machines downstairs and the traffic on the main road. We keep the finished pieces stacked on large tables until they’re ready to go. It’s mostly just a regular workspace with patterns pinned to the walls and thread everywhere. Sometimes we run out of a specific color and someone has to run out and find it. We don't do anything too fancy here. It’s just about getting the orders right and making sure nobody misses a deadline. The local tea seller comes by twice a day, which is usually the highlight when things get stressful. We’ve been in this part of K. Chettipalayam for a while, so we know the other shop owners on the street. It’s a busy area, but it suits us just fine. We just focus on the shirts and pants and whatever else needs doing.
