Janani Garments

Janani Garments is located right on 48 Kamatchi Amman Koil Street. You can find us pretty easily because we are near the Kamatchi Amman Kalyana Mandapam. It’s a well-known landmark around here so most people don't have trouble finding the door. We spend our days working on different types of garments. It is a local operation and we prefer keeping things that way. The street gets quite lively, especially when there are functions at the mandapam nearby. Inside our shop, we have our workstations set up for cutting and stitching. It’s not a polished showroom, just a place where the actual work happens. We’ve been here at this address for a good bit now. Some of the staff have been with us since the start. We usually open up early to get a head start on the day's tasks. There is always some thread or fabric being moved around. We don't spend money on big ads or anything. Most people find us through word of mouth or just by walking down the street. It’s a noisy, busy place but we enjoy the rhythm of the work. If you are in the neighborhood, you'll see us there at number 48. We just focus on making clothes that people can actually use. It’s a small team and we all help each other out when things get busy. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big batch, but that's just part of the job. We keep a pot of coffee going and keep at it. We like it.
