Infinite Apparels

Out here in Velliankadu, things are a bit more spread out than in the center of town. Our place is at S. F. No. 712 in E. B. Nagar. Most people just call it the 60 Feet Road. It is a good location for a garment business because there is enough room for the trucks. Infinite Apparels is basically where we spend ten hours a day, sometimes more if a big order is due soon. We do a lot of sewing and cutting here. You can hear the machines humming from the street usually. It is a practical space, nothing too fancy to look at. We have concrete floors and big wooden tables for laying out the cloth before it gets cut. The dust from the thread gets everywhere, no matter how much we sweep the floors. I usually get here early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Dealing with the heat is just part of the job when you work in this part of town. We have a small team and we all know each other’s families by now. It is a local operation through and through. We do not have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just make the clothes and send them off. Sometimes we get things wrong and have to redo a whole batch, which is frustrating, but that is the business. We just try to stay busy and keep the machines running.
