Hatch Tirupur

We are located at No. 34 Kamachimman Street, right behind the old bus stand in Tirupur. Being near the bus stand means it is always noisy and crowded outside our door. There are people shouting, horns honking, and the smell of diesel from the buses. Inside, it is a bit different. We have our workspace set up with samples of shirts and other knitted things hanging on the walls. It is a bit of a maze with all the boxes and the rolls of fabric sitting around. We have a small table where we sit and talk to the people who come in to see us. Usually, there is a pile of half-finished garments on one side and a sewing machine on the other. We don't have much of a sign outside, just a small one that is a bit crooked. People who know Tirupur know that this is where the work gets done. We spend a lot of our time chasing after different people to make sure things are on schedule. It is a lot of running around and phone calls. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish up a batch of samples. We take our tea from the stall at the corner of the street. It’s a hectic way to work, but we’ve been doing it this way for a long time and it seems to work out.
