Gmr Garments

Our place is at No. 11 in the Sidco Industrial Estate on Harvey Road. Being in an industrial estate means there is always something going on nearby. There are trucks moving in and out of the gates all day long. You can hear the sounds of metal and engines from the other units. Our unit at Gmr Garments is just a big open space where we do all the production. It is not the kind of place where you would come to look at a showroom. We have rows of machines and big tables for cutting the fabric. The ceiling is high, which helps with the air, but it still gets warm when all the machines are running at once. We eat our lunch together in a small corner of the shop. Harvey Road stays busy from morning until late at night. We have been here since we started out. The Sidco area is good for us because all the supplies we need are close by. We do not worry about making the place look pretty for visitors. We just worry about keeping the machines maintained and the work moving. There are always stacks of finished goods waiting by the door to be picked up by the transporters. It is a lot of hard work and the days can be long, but that is the life in an industrial estate like this one. We just keep working.
